A court recently delivered verdicts in a criminal case stemming from an altercation that occurred in the Priešeni district late last year. According to case documentation, the accused initiated the violence against the victim due to personal disagreements. The assault involved the accused striking the victim with hands and feet.
Specifically, the injuries documented included multiple blows to the legs and chest, in addition to at least eleven strikes directed at the head. These severe injuries ultimately led to the death of the victim. Following a thorough examination of the evidence, the court found both accused guilty of murder.
Consequently, the court imposed fixed sentences: G. J. was sentenced to 12 years, and D.
M. was sentenced to 11 years. The legal proceedings were supported by a pre-trial investigation managed by the Crime Prevention Department of the Alytus District Police Commissioner’s Office.
Furthermore, the state indictment was supported by Vytautas Gataveckas, a prosecutor from the First Criminal Prosecution Section of the Kaunas District Prosecutor’s Office. The ruling concludes a significant investigation into the fatal incident, establishing legal culpability for the death.
