G. Nausėda leaves for the NATO summit in Ankara

The President’s Office has indicated that President G. Nausėda plans to focus several key areas during an upcoming meeting. The President is expected to emphasize Lithuania’s record investments in defense and the development of dual-purpose infrastructure.

Furthermore, the discussions will address strengthening national resilience, readiness for the deployment of the German brigade within the country, and the establishment of a national division. Beyond domestic security measures, the President will emphasize the critical importance of transatlantic cooperation. He is also expected to stress the necessity for Europe to assume a greater degree of responsibility for its own security, alongside supporting the strengthening of NATO nuclear deterrence under U.S.

leadership, and continued support for Ukraine. Separately, First Lady Diana Nausėdienė will be in Ankara. She is scheduled to participate in a distinct program organized for spouses of NATO leaders.

During this visit, she will deliver a speech at a round table discussion titled, “Children, Technology and Security: The Protection of the Next Generation.”
