Speaking to journalists on Monday after a government meeting concerning the waste crisis, an official stated that the Vilnius region had presented a comprehensive plan to address the difficulties. According to I. Andriulaitytė, the meeting resulted in a decision to increase the capacity of waste incineration facilities. This measure, she explained, is intended to assist in controlling the current situation.
She emphasized the Ministry’s role as the coordinating body, responsible for monitoring the waste management situation and engaging in a crisis response should it become necessary.
