In a multi-apartment building, a surprising guest: a wandering deer was recorded

A recent video documenting the presence of a wild animal in the city has prompted attention from local authorities. According to the individual who submitted the footage, the video was recorded on June 4th at approximately 9 a.m. The sighting occurred on Pramonės prospektas, specifically in the area situated between apartment buildings.

The shared video footage shows a wild animal crossing a roadway, entering a children’s playground through the surrounding trees, and subsequently moving away from a nearby car park. The news portal “Kaunas.Kaunas” relayed the details and contacted the Kaunas County Police Department for comment. A deputy with the department reported that, as of the time of the inquiry, no official reports of wild animals within the city have been received.

This marks the second reported incident of this nature in recent weeks. The initial sighting took place last week, on the evening of May 27th. During that earlier event, a young wild animal was filmed wandering in the Aukštieji Šančiai district of Kaunas.

The recurring sightings have raised questions regarding wildlife proximity within urban residential zones. Residents who recorded the footage emphasized the unexpected nature of the animal’s presence near established residential areas, including the vicinity of apartment complexes. Authorities are currently assessing the reports to determine if any preventative measures are necessary to manage human-wildlife interactions in the city.
