In Kaunas and Kaišiadorys firefighters rescued people trapped in lifts

Two separate incidents involving malfunctioning elevators were reported in Lithuania on different days, requiring emergency services to intervene in both cases. The first incident occurred in the early morning hours in Kaunas. At approximately 00:29, reports were received concerning a man trapped inside a stuck elevator located on M.

Gimbutienės street. Emergency response teams were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, personnel were able to gain access to the elevator car, allowing for the safe release of the individual inside.

Later that same day, a second entrapment was reported in the city of Kaišiadorys. At 17:40, authorities were notified of an elevator malfunction on Gedimino street. This incident involved an elderly gentleman who had been confined within the unit for an extended period.

Rescue efforts were coordinated, and the disabled man was successfully extricated from the elevator. Following the rescue, medical personnel were immediately called to the scene to assess and transfer the man to appropriate medical care. These reports highlight the ongoing necessity for prompt emergency response services when vertical transportation systems fail.

The incidents underscore the potential risks associated with elevators becoming stuck, requiring specialized intervention to ensure the safety and timely rescue of trapped occupants in both Kaunas and Kaišiadorys.
