In Lithuania – serious law enforcement operation: liquidated armed group that kidnapped a person, more than 10 people were arrested (2)

Following a large-scale operation, authorities arrested more than ten suspects and recovered weapons and drugs in connection with a recent abduction. The investigation was launched on March 4th, around 7:40 pm, after reports indicated that a group had used physical violence in the Pagiriai village area of the Vilnius district. The incident involved forcing a man into the trunk of a VW Touran vehicle, after which the perpetrators fled the area.

Investigators determined that the crime was highly premeditated. Evidence revealed the presence of hidden tracking devices within the victim’s vehicle. In an effort to conceal evidence, the suspects later burned the getaway car in the Širvintos district, specifically in the Kernavė area, several hours after the robbery occurred.

The victim was subsequently taken to a rented holiday resort located in the Trakų district, where several accomplices were detained. For the man’s release, a demand of 100,000 euros was reportedly made to his relatives. The subsequent police investigation into this serious crime led to the comprehensive operation.

The successful efforts resulted in the apprehension of numerous individuals, bringing the case to a major conclusion. Authorities continue to process the recovered items, including illicit drugs and various weapons, as they build a case against the perpetrators.
