In the city and Raseiniai district, con artists extorted about 6.5 thousand euros from people

A case has been registered with the Klaipėda County Police Department following a report of significant financial loss due to online fraud. According to the statement provided, the incident occurred on June 29, when the victim received a text message containing a link. Upon clicking the link and entering the requested data, the individual discovered that 31,100 euros had been withdrawn from her bank account by fraudulent parties.

Additionally, police reports indicate another individual potentially fell victim to similar schemes. The Šiauliai AVPK noted that a man originating from the raseiniai district, born in 1988, was involved in a separate transaction. On February 12, this man transferred 3,372 euros to a bank account intended for the purchase and delivery of building materials.

To date, the goods have not been received, nor has the transferred money been recovered. These reported incidents highlight ongoing issues with financial fraud targeting local residents. The police reports also reference other instances of reported losses, including an amount of 10,400 euros taken from villagers and another loss of 19,600 euros reported in the Tauerė region.

Authorities continue to investigate these cases involving the misappropriation of euros through digital means.
