In the dire weather forecast, the numbers are long-awaited: gusts can reach 30 m/s

A forecast indicates that Lithuania will experience significant changes in its atmospheric conditions over the coming days. According to meteorological sources, a strong and wet southern cyclone is anticipated to pass over the country on the following day. For Saturday, the general weather pattern will feature overcast skies across the western and northern regions, while the southern and eastern regions are expected to remain cloudy.

Widespread rain is predicted across nearly the entire country. Rainfall is expected to be persistent and potentially heavy in the western and northern areas, with some locations anticipating very heavy downpours. Furthermore, the southeastern part of the country is forecast to experience intense, short-duration rainfall, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms.

A key concern highlighted in the forecast is the wind strength on Saturday. Winds are expected to originate from the southeast and south in the early morning, before shifting direction to the west and northwest. Wind speeds are projected to increase significantly, reaching 15–17 m/s, with gusts potentially reaching 18–23 m/s in many areas, and even 24–27 m/s in some locations.

Coastal areas are warned of particularly stormy conditions, with wind speeds forecasted between 28 and 30 m/s. Authorities have issued warnings regarding the volatile nature of the weather, advising caution due to the potential for severe storms and unstable atmospheric conditions across all regions.
