The Love Streams Running club hosted a significant Lithuanian extreme running event, organizing competition for athletes across a wide spectrum of abilities. The day’s activities featured multiple disciplines, structured into seven distinct ability groups to accommodate diverse levels of athletic participation. In the individual running events, 179 athletes competed, with 113 participants recording their personal best times in the 5000m distance.
Beyond the individual competition, the event incorporated several team-based challenges. A notable component was the 500m relay, which featured ten separate teams competing in the relay race format. Furthermore, a special Father’s Day race was held, involving a relay circuit around a 400m track for parents and their children.
The relay events saw several notable performances. In the category involving daughters and sons, the duo of Laimonas Lapinsko and Jorė Lapinskaitė secured the victory. Another highlight was the father-son relay, where Egidijus Balčiūnas, an Olympic-level former kayaker, partnered with his son, Džiugas Balčiūnas, to claim the win.
The day provided a comprehensive showcase of endurance running, blending structured individual races with collaborative team efforts.
