In the wake of the conflict between Poland and Ukraine, the President’s message

According to A. Skaisgirytė, Lithuania has previously served as a mediator in discussions involving Ukraine and Poland on multiple occasions. She referenced a recent instance that took place in January when Lithuanian President G.

Nausėda hosted Polish President K. Nawrockis and Ukrainian President V. Zelenskis in Vilnius.

While the official reason for the gathering was the commemoration of the 1863 uprising, the meeting facilitated more substantial discussions. A tripartite session was held where participants addressed the ongoing situation in Ukraine and explored avenues for how Poland could provide support to Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. Speaking to “Radio Z” on Tuesday, Nausėda’s chief adviser noted that the meeting was highly productive.

The adviser suggested that maintaining this diplomatic momentum would be crucial, stating that further efforts might be necessary to convene the two presidents for continued dialogue. The adviser characterized the previous meeting as having been somewhat rushed on all sides. The account underscores Lithuania’s continued diplomatic role in fostering dialogue between the two neighboring nations.

The discussions center on strengthening cooperation between Poland and Ukraine, utilizing Lithuania as a platform to advance coordination efforts regarding regional security and support for Ukraine.
