Iran: The main issue in negotiations with the USA is the conflict in Lebanon

Esmail Baqaei, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that violations of commitments in Lebanon by the Zionist regime will be the main topic of upcoming negotiations. In a video posted by the state news agency IRNA, Baqaei added that other key agenda items will include the issue of accessing Iranian assets that have been frozen or restricted, alongside discussions concerning the issuance of necessary licenses for the sale of Iranian oil. Separately, reports indicate that following a memorandum of understanding signed this week, the United States and Iranian representatives have established a 60-day period to finalize a comprehensive treaty aimed at ending the regional conflict.

This conflict reportedly began on February 28 with airstrikes conducted by the US and Israel against the Islamic Republic. During these diplomatic negotiations, the US has stated its objective is to reach a resolution regarding the Iranian nuclear program. The stated focus on Lebanon and Iranian economic assets highlights several critical issues slated for discussion.

The structured negotiation process suggests multiple fronts are being addressed simultaneously: regional security concerns, financial access, and energy trade mechanisms. These discussions are framed by the broader diplomatic effort to de-escalate tensions following the recent military actions.
