It is incredible what they found in a child-friendly container: the entire batch is recalled from the retail chain

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has initiated an investigation following a consumer report detailing the discovery of a foreign object in a batch of baby food. The contaminated product was identified as “Marmaluzi,” a sausgruyere containing rice and zucchini, manufactured by UAB “Kėdainių konservų fabrikas” under part number P2 0081. Reports indicated that the affected goods had been distributed across major Lithuanian retail chains, including “Maxim,” “Norfos,” and “Sanitex.”

In response to the contamination concern, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has launched a formal inquiry into potential hygiene violations at the facility.

Officials stated that when such reports regarding unsafe food products are received, the Ministry takes immediate action to quarantine the entire batch. According to the Ministry, the regulatory procedure involves pinpointing every Lithuanian retail outlet that received or sold the compromised goods. These establishments are then issued explicit instructions requiring the immediate recall of the product from all sales points.

Furthermore, the Ministry mandates that retailers ensure consumers are promptly informed about the nature of the issue to prevent further consumption. This proactive measure underscores the oversight role of the Ministry in safeguarding public health within the food supply chain. The focus remains on ensuring compliance with stringent standards across the entire agricultural and food processing sector to maintain consumer trust in rural food production.
