The Ministry of Social Security and Labour (MSAL) has outlined the specific guarantees currently established under the Labour Code. Central to these protections is the fundamental obligation to ensure that workers are compensated the same or equal value for performing the same or equivalent work, thereby establishing principles of pay equity. Furthermore, the Code mandates a transparent and non-discriminatory recruitment process.

This includes requirements such as utilizing gender-neutral job advertisements and the obligation for employers to disclose the basic salary or a specified salary range within the job posting itself. Regarding employer accountability, the MSAL notes that employers are required to furnish information detailing average wages, broken down by both gender and specific job group, upon request from employee representatives. In some instances, administrative responsibility for the accurate calculation and determination of wages may be imposed directly on the employer.

In addition to these workplace protections, the Ministry addressed proposals concerning a second stage of the pension system. The MSAL characterized these proposals as political speculation. They indicated that the public sentiment may shift regarding the mandatory implementation of a gender-neutral and objective wage system for businesses employing twenty or more workers.

These regulations collectively form the framework governing labour relations and wage standards within the jurisdiction.
