J. Taminskas says he has not experienced any pressure regarding the resumption of Belarusian fertilizer transit

A minister speaking to “Radio News” on Thursday stated that he has not personally encountered any form of external coercion. He asserted that he has neither received any letters, specifically from the US-ELTA, nor faced any calls or other forms of pressure. The minister urged others who might have faced such situations to speak publicly about their experiences.

This statement comes amid reports in foreign media detailing discussions involving the United States regarding Belarusian agricultural exports. According to these reports, US officials have approached Lithuania, Poland, and Ukraine with proposals to lift existing sanctions concerning Belarusian fertilizers and to permit the transit of these materials through their territories. The interest appears to be driven by commercial opportunities.

It was noted that following the removal of financial restrictions on the state fertilizer manufacturer, “Belaruskalij,” by the administration of President Donald Trump in March, several US companies have shown increased interest in purchasing and transporting Belarusian potassium. The minister’s denial of receiving any pressure or correspondence suggests a personal demarcation from the geopolitical discussions surrounding the region’s trade policies. His declaration underscores a specific lack of external influence in his own dealings.

The reports regarding US engagement highlight a renewed focus on securing access to Belarusian raw materials, which has prompted statements from local officials regarding the nature of external diplomatic and commercial inquiries.
