J. Valančiūnas emphasized the critical role of experienced role models for new generations, noting that young athletes learn significantly by observing our successes and setbacks. He highlighted that the ability to directly transfer accumulated experience is an invaluable resource.
Valančiūnas expressed satisfaction at his opportunity to contribute to the development of young talent. He pointed to the involvement of the NBA and top Lithuanian basketball specialists in this initiative. He expressed hope that the upcoming camp would equip the young participants with substantial knowledge and new insights that they could successfully apply throughout their future basketball careers.
This year’s J. Valančiūnas camp is scheduled to take place in Gargždai from June 15th to June 18th. The camp is designed to invite the most promising young athletes, specifically those born in 2011, a selection process overseen by the majority of the trainers guiding this cohort.
Valančiūnas himself is committed to participating in all six scheduled training sessions. During these sessions, he plans to share his firsthand experience playing on NBA courts with the young participants, thereby bridging the gap between current training and professional opportunities for the next generations.
