Just as the newly paved street was being repaved, they found a major flaw

Klaipėda Mayor Arvydas Vaitkus stated that the recently laid asphalt on Liepų street failed to meet required quality standards. He observed unevenness and waviness in the material, indicating substandard workmanship that necessitates a redo of the work. Mayor Vaitkus emphasized that quality in Klaipėda is not negotiable, asserting that contractors must fulfill their obligations.

He noted that the residents of Klaipėda expect well-executed work, as they are the payers. Furthermore, he warned that contractors failing to meet established standards risk being placed on a list of unreliable firms, potentially losing the opportunity to work within the city. He urged contractors not to take risks and to perform work according to proper procedures.

Separately, preparations are underway for decorated buses featuring artwork by M. Kosinkaitė. This traveling gallery initiative is scheduled to visit various locations throughout Lithuania.

Preparatory work for the rollout of these buses will commence in early June, with the exhibitions beginning from that month.
