The Lithuanian Ministry of Migration Department recently concluded its review of a permanent residence permit application submitted by a Russian citizen, L. Volkov. According to Rokas Pukinskas, a representative from the department, the process involved a comprehensive examination of the materials.
The Ministry confirmed that standard protocols were strictly followed during the review. These procedures included a detailed analysis of Mr. Volkov’s submitted application and stated motives.
Furthermore, the department gathered both public and non-public intelligence pertaining to the foreigner. A key component of the process was the formal consultation with the State Security Department to evaluate whether Mr. Volkov’s presence posed any threat to state security.
Pukinskas stated that after completing these necessary steps, the department received no information that would preclude the issuance of the permanent residence permit. Based on this comprehensive assessment, the Ministry of Migration Department made a formal decision on June 5, 2026, granting the permanent residence permit to L. Volkov.
The newly issued permit will maintain validity for a period of five years. This decision reflects the department’s conclusion following its thorough procedural review.
