Media: I. Ruginienė will return to lead the Ministry of Social Security and Labor

Sources within the Social Democratic Party (SDP) have indicated an agreement regarding new ministerial appointments. According to reports, three sources confirmed that I. Ruginienė is slated to resume her role as the Minister of Social Protection and Labour, a position she previously held and was associated with leading the government.

Currently, Jūratė Zailskienė occupies the leadership of the Social Protection and Labour Ministry. She is reportedly being offered several alternative positions in exchange, including the role of Vice-President of the Seimas. Further developments concern the leadership structure of the government.

M. Sinkevičius, the chairman of the LSDP, announced on Tuesday via his Facebook account that he has assumed responsibility for leading the Government. These potential shifts suggest a realignment of key governmental roles, particularly within the social welfare sector.

The proposed changes affect the administration of the Ministry, which handles crucial social policy matters. The appointments suggest a continuation of high-level involvement in social affairs. While Ruginienė is set to lead the ministry, the movement of personnel within the government aims to solidify the party’s governing structure.

The roles outlined—from the ministerial portfolio to the Vice-Presidency—indicate a coordinated effort to place key figures in positions where they can guide policy and lead governmental initiatives.
