No further attempts to cross the state border illegally have been recorded on the Lithuanian-Belarusian border

Latvia continues to manage the influx of migrants along its borders. On Friday, Latvian border guards reportedly denied entry to 85 foreign nationals. Meanwhile, Polish border services recorded no documented attempts to illegally cross the state border on Thursday.

Examining historical data, officials noted a decrease in documented crossings from Belarus into Lithuania. Last year, authorities prevented over 1,600 individuals from entering Lithuania from Belarus through unauthorized points. This year, that figure stood at 901.

Overall, since the migration crisis linked to Belarus commenced, authorities have reportedly prevented the entry of 25,500 undocumented migrants into the country. The influx of migrants into Eastern European nations began in 2021, a situation that prompted accusations from Western nations directed at the Belarusian regime. The State Border Guard Service (SIB) of Belarus operates along the Latvian-Belarusian border.

These consistent reports indicate ongoing monitoring and enforcement measures at the national border checkpoints. The documented numbers reflect the continuous effort to manage cross-border movement and prevent unauthorized entry attempts across the region’s borders.
