A recent visit by a cruise ship to Klaipėda provided an organized tour experience for its passengers. According to Romena Savickienė, head of the Klaipėda Tourism Information Center, the itinerary featured a unique package that included both a scenic bus ride and a walk through the historic old town of Klaipėda. Savickienė said that the visit was set to bring in a total of 950 tourists, with the majority originating from the United Kingdom.
The group was organized into 28 separate tour groups. She further detailed that the scheduled activities for the visitors included trips to the amber processing factory, as well as visits to Plateliai and Lapiai. Beyond tourism, the region’s commerce was also noted, with traditional Lithuanian products being exported, even to France, where they are utilized for termite protection.
This visit represents the twelfth cruise ship arrival in Klaipėda this year. Regarding the schedule, the center confirmed that the next scheduled cruise ship visit is anticipated for Wednesday, June 17th. The itinerary for the visiting ship continues to emphasize the comprehensive local experience offered to all passengers.
