Opening of the children’s camp for Ukrainian defenders who have died, disappeared and continue to fight in Vilnius

According to reports from the army, a specialized educational and therapeutic camp is scheduled for children aged 10 to 15 years old from July 19th to July 28th. The camp is designed for the children of parents who are currently serving or have served with the “East” brigades of the “Rytų” Operational Command, covering the Dnipro, Kharkiv, Donbas, and Zaporizhzhya regions. This visit represents a first opportunity for the participating children to experience Lithuania.

During their time at the camp, the attendees will engage in a variety of activities, including guided tours of the Seimas, visits to various military units and museums, and participation in educational and therapeutic programs. The campers will be housed at the General Jonas Žemaitis LKA facility. The initiative supports the families of Ukrainian defenders.

While the children of “Birutietės” defenders have been invited to camps in Lithuania since 2022, organizers have announced that beginning in 2025, a dedicated camp will be organized exclusively for the children of Ukrainian defenders. The details provided outline who is eligible to attend and what structured activities await the participants during this supportive camp experience.
