Police found drugs in a car belonging to a soldier in Panevėžys

Multiple drug-related incidents were reported across Lithuania on Wednesday, involving multiple law enforcement actions. In Panevėžys, local police officers conducted a stop on Staniūnų street around 3 a.m. During the stop, police detained a vehicle occupied by a man and a soldier belonging to the King Mindaugas Hussar Battalion.

Authorities reported that the individuals were found in possession of a polyethylene bag containing a white powder, which is suspected to be a narcotic substance. Following the seizure, the soldier was transported to the detention center. Drug activity was also reported in Žasliaus, where police discovered 103 packets of drugs inside the car belonging to a soldier.

Separately, in Vilnius, police arrested a young man after drugs were found in his vehicle, with authorities seizing an amount matching the 103 packets reported earlier. Meanwhile, in Klaipėda, law enforcement apprehended two individuals identified as major drug distributors involved in criminal networks. Furthermore, an ongoing pre-trial investigation has been opened concerning the unlawful possession of narcotic substances, specifically addressing cases where distribution intent could not be established.

These varied incidents highlight ongoing efforts by the police to combat illegal narcotics trafficking across different regions of the country.
