Polish border guards: 16 more migrants arrested from Lithuania who illegally entered the country

On July 9th, Polish border guards stationed at the Seńos border protection post reported the detention of twelve migrants. Upon inspection of the documentation, the authorities determined that none of the individuals possessed the legal right to enter or remain within Polish territory. Separately, reports detailed unauthorized crossings along the Polish-Lithuanian border.

Specifically, nine Iranian citizens and three Afghan nationals were intercepted while attempting to cross the border on foot in a restricted zone. Further activity was noted near Punsk, where four Sudanese citizens were detained. These individuals were also found attempting to cross the border in a prohibited manner.

The actions taken by the Polish guards highlight ongoing border security operations. These incidents underscore the challenges faced by border authorities in managing irregular migration flows across the Polish frontier. The reports confirm that the Polish border guards are actively monitoring and enforcing national border regulations to prevent illegal entries.

The detentions confirm instances where migrants were found without proper documentation or were attempting to bypass established crossing points.
