Polish officials barely manage to catch migrants and their guides who have slipped through Lithuania – more than a hundred people are arrested every day

On June 23, Polish border guards reported the detention of 46 migrants at the Polish-Lithuanian border. Additionally, seven individuals were detained for allegedly assisting these people in illegally crossing the border. Within the jurisdiction of the Seinas border guard post, the detained group included 11 Afghan citizens, one Pakistani citizen, and four Georgian citizens.

The border guards also reported an incident involving a vehicle near the border. The driver of a Mitsubishi car bearing Polish registration numbers reportedly disregarded instructions to stop and attempted to flee. Following a brief pursuit, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to enter a ditch.

The man who exited the car also attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended. These reports indicate ongoing activity at the border. Previously, border guards had detained 12 migrants from Burundi in the Čepkelės swamp.

Furthermore, authorities noted that the number of migrants entering Lithuania from Poland has not shown a decrease, with dozens being detained again over the preceding weekend.
