This partnership is formalized through several established mechanisms, including the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), the Multinational Combat Group (MN BG), the Northern Group, and the Northern and Baltic Eight-man (NB8) teams. Norway continues to play an active role in enhancing Lithuania’s air defense posture.
This support is evidenced by Lithuania’s participation in the NATO Air Policing Mission within the country on three separate occasions. Additionally, Norway has provided Lithuania with short-range air defense systems, specifically the RBS-70. These systems are currently deployed and utilized by the Air Defense Battalion of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
