According to news agency Reuters, which cited two sources within the oil industry, a major refining facility in Russia has been identified as the nation’s second-largest petrol producer and its fourth-largest oil refinery. The plant is situated near the town of Kstovo, located approximately 450 kilometers east of Moscow. The facility possesses an annual refining capacity of about 15 million tons of crude oil.
This substantial capacity allows the complex to process significant volumes of raw materials into various refined products essential for the domestic market. Annually, the refinery generates a diverse output, with production figures detailing the scale of its operations. Specifically, the plant produces about 5 million tons of gasoline, alongside more than 5 million tons of diesel fuel.
In addition to these primary fuels, the complex is responsible for the annual output of 2 million tons of asphalt and roughly 500 thousand tons of bitumen. The scale of production underscores the refinery’s importance to Russia’s energy infrastructure. By processing such large quantities of crude oil, the facility plays a critical role in supplying refined petroleum products across the country.
