Rheinmetall presented a mobile combat drone launch device at the exhibition in Paris

A new container system developed by Rheinmetall is designed for the rapid deployment and launch of unmanned aerial vehicles. According to the company, this unit has the capacity to accommodate and subsequently launch up to 18 drones, allowing for the simultaneous deployment of multiple unmanned aerial systems. These specialized drones are remotely controlled and boast operational specifications including a flight duration of up to 70 minutes and a range of approximately 100 kilometers.

The control architecture supports both direct operator input and advanced artificial intelligence tools designed to assist in target identification and tracking. However, the system maintains a crucial safeguard, ensuring that the final decision-making process remains under human command. The specific drone model detailed, designated “FV-014,” is equipped with a payload consisting of a 4-kilogram explosive charge and an integrated detonator.

Due to their design for dedicated attack missions, these drones are not equipped with landing gear and are therefore incapable of landing after launch. The system is engineered to facilitate high-volume, immediate operational capability. Rheinmetall emphasizes that the integrated nature of the container allows for efficient staging and launch sequences, making it a robust asset for tactical deployment scenarios requiring coordinated drone action.
