The capital club has officially extended its cooperation with basketball player Kay Bruhnke. A new contract, structured as “1+1,” has been signed, ensuring the player will remain with the Vilnius-based club following a successful season, which culminated in a FIBA Champions League title. Bruhnke’s professional journey in Lithuania commenced in 2023 when he signed with the Mažeikiai “M Basket-Delamode” team.
During his tenure with that club, the German athlete rapidly established himself as one of the league’s premier players. His performance in November 2024 was particularly notable, leading him to receive the LKL Monthly MVP award, based on impressive statistics that included an average of 21.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 24 efficiency rating points. Following a partial season with the Mažeikiai team, the player transitioned to the Turkish top-tier Ankaras “Turk Telekom” club via a buyout.
Subsequently, in the summer of 2025, Bruhnke returned to Lithuania, joining the ranks of the Vilnius “Rytas” club. The extension confirms his commitment to the current team, solidifying his role within the club’s roster after achieving significant team success.
