The Lithuanian Sign Language Translation Center coordinates the efforts of 120 sign language interpreters across all regions of Lithuania. According to the Center’s director, Prof. Ramunė Kaspe, the primary objective is to guarantee the accessibility of sign language interpretation services for people with hearing impairments throughout the entire country.
These essential services are provided free of charge, with funding sourced from the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania. The profession itself is supported by researchers from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts at KTU, who assist in the training and development of these skilled professionals.
