Data from Lithuania indicates that Saturday recorded the highest volume of emergency calls, totaling 6,570. The busiest period for assistance requests was between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., during which the BPC averaged approximately 400 calls per hour.
Over the weekend period analyzed, various services reported significant activity. The police received 5,830 reports, the emergency medical service logged 4,550, and the fire rescue service handled 351 incidents. Additionally, the environmental protection service received 267 calls.
According to Jelena Montvilienė, Deputy Head of the BPC, the increase in activity aligns with seasonal patterns. Montvilienė noted that during the warm season, the BPC traditionally observes higher call volumes. She attributed this surge to increased public activity, citing greater travel, time spent in natural environments and water bodies, and the scheduling of various community events.
The official report stated that the number of requests for help and reported incidents tends to rise during the summer months, particularly on weekends and when weather conditions are favorable. These statistics highlight the correlation between favorable weather, increased outdoor activity, and the corresponding volume of calls received by emergency services.
