The burning camper in Kaišiadorys burned down the outdoor kitchen

Firefighters from the Kaunas Fire Brigade responded to an incident in the Žiežmarių district municipality on July 13th, at approximately 12:04 a.m. The fire call was issued for the area located on Morkūnų street in the Medinių Strėvininkų village. Reports indicated that the fire had spread from a burning camp-car to an adjacent farm building.

Upon arrival at the scene, emergency crews encountered open flames emanating from an outdoor kitchen addition. The camp-car, identified as “Zuggabel,” was already significantly damaged by the blaze. The resulting fire caused substantial structural damage to the attached outdoor kitchen, including the complete burning of its roof and three of its exterior walls.

The interior area of the structure was noted to be heavily soaked from the firefighting efforts. This incident highlights ongoing fire concerns within the Kaunas area. Recently, other fire events have been reported, including a fire involving a decorative “Moskvich” vehicle in a flower salon, where flames spread to a converted garage in Nida.

Additionally, another fire broke out in a section referred to as the “Shanghai” area, where garages converted for residential use were engulfed by flames. The Kaunas Fire Brigade continues to respond to incidents involving property damage and uncontrolled burning, underscoring the need for vigilance regarding safety protocols around structures and temporary living arrangements.
