A pre-trial investigation was conducted and overseen by Egidijus Kerys, the prosecutor from the Šiauliai District Prosecutor’s Office. The operational aspects of the investigation were managed by officers from the Criminal Police Organized Crime and Corruption Investigations Department of the Telšių County Police Commissioner’s Office. The findings of the investigation detail activities that took place in December 2024.
According to the report, the defendant, identified as G. G., unlawfully obtained and subsequently transported a very large quantity of narcotic substance to the city of Mažeikiai using a vehicle. Specifically, the initial seizure involved approximately 3.5 kg of hemp (land parts).
On the same day, it was further documented that the defendant illegally transferred a portion of this material, amounting to about 900 g, to another individual, A. B., suggesting a coordinated distribution effort involving a large volume of narcotics. Furthermore, the investigation documented an incident in Klaipėdietis where an individual was intercepted while distributing drugs.
The evidence indicated that the sales transactions were being conducted using cryptocurrency. Police officers intervened and stopped the individual at the time of the distribution. These combined actions highlight the scope of the illegal drug trafficking activities uncovered during the official inquiry.
