A significant fire incident was reported by the Kaunas Fire and Rescue Department on Friday morning. The blaze occurred at a building located on Algimantas street in the Vilijampolė district, commencing around 8:30 a.m. The flames quickly engulfed a garage that housed motorcycles powered by internal combustion engines.
Firefighters responding to the scene discovered a 38-year-old man who had sustained severe burns but was able to exit the immediate area. Separately, another incident involving a small fire took place earlier that day at a hotel in Vilnius. Following the initial incident, emergency medical personnel responded to the area near a vocational school.
These responders provided examinations to two individuals in the vicinity of the fire. In addition to medical attention, authorities managed the evacuation of 37 people from the school premises. The reports detail two separate incidents of emergency response across the region.
The first event in Kaunas required substantial firefighting efforts due to the nature of the materials involved in the burning garage. Meanwhile, the second incident in Vilnius required coordinated medical and evacuation efforts to ensure the safety of those within the educational facility.
