The local government has announced comprehensive infrastructure improvements scheduled for the city’s roadways, which will involve several distinct phases of construction. The work process is highly structured, beginning with the replacement of the road pavement. Subsequently, the existing asphalt layer will be milled away, and then a new asphalt surface will be laid down.
The project scope also includes the installation of a new wellhead at various points. To manage the workflow efficiently, the construction will proceed in defined stages. The initial focus will be on the southern sector, moving from Klaipėda Street toward Panevėžys Street, after which the work will progress northward through the area.
To ensure that the city remains functional throughout the upgrade, complete road closures will be avoided. However, the municipality advises all drivers of necessary patience and attention. Construction activities are scheduled to take place during working hours, from 8:00 to 17:00.
During these times, work crews will operate within isolated sections, each measuring approximately 200 to 300 meters, resulting in a temporary restriction to one lane of traffic flow. The overall duration for these main construction efforts is estimated to span two to three months.
