The Lithuanian women’s national team concluded their participation in the European Championships without securing any victories. Nevertheless, the experience gained throughout the tournament is considered valuable. This marks the second occasion in history that the Lithuanian national team has reached the final stage of the European U18 Championship.
The team previously reached this stage two years ago under the guidance of coach Kęstutis Galdikas. The current Lithuanian U18 team, which featured a substantial number of developing players, competed in the final match of the group stage against the Finnish team. In that final game, the Lithuanian team did not record any wins.
Despite the results, the participation itself is noted as a significant milestone for the program. The overall experience gained by the players and coaching staff is emphasized as a key takeaway from their involvement in the tournament. The journey and the level of competition encountered by the Lithuanian team provide considerable developmental value for the squad.
