Mantas Norkus, head of the customer service center for “Lietuvos draudimas,” characterized the event as one of the year’s most severe.
He noted that the overall impact on the population’s assets is substantial. The primary sources of damage reported are attributed to strong winds affecting structures and property, numerous instances of trees falling due to wind stress, and flooding resulting from heavy precipitation and hailstorms. According to Norkus, the current storm has been marked by an unusually high volume of vehicle damage.
Specifically, the cumulative damage registered to automobiles has already surpassed 100,000 euros, primarily due to impacts from fallen tree limbs and branches across Lithuania. The continued influx of damage reports underscores the widespread impact across various sectors.
