On August 10th, at approximately 5:19 PM, the Kaunas Fire Brigade was dispatched to an incident on Jotvingių street. The call originated from a neighbor who reported concerns regarding a resident within an apartment, noting that the individual had been absent for an extended period and that a noticeable foul odor was emanating from the unit. Upon arrival at the scene, the responding firefighters conducted an initial assessment of the premises.
Due to the nature of the situation and the location of the suspected issue, the team utilized an automatic hoist system to gain access to the fourth-floor apartment. After hoisting the equipment to the unit, the firefighters gained entry through the window. It was subsequently determined that the apartment door was unlocked and opened from the interior.
Following the initial entry, emergency medical personnel and police officers were brought into the apartment to investigate the matter further and assess the welfare of the resident.
