The Labour Court Commission awarded 8.5 million euros to employees in the space of half a year

Data from the VDI indicate notable shifts in labor disputes compared to the first half of the previous year. Overall, the volume of applications received this year has increased by about 17%, and the number of formal claims has risen by about 23%. Analysis of the disputes reveals that wage-related matters constituted the largest category of conflict, accounting for approximately 71% of all claims processed.

Beyond compensation issues, disputes frequently center on several key areas. These include the legality of employee dismissals, the specific terms outlined in employment contracts, compensation for both non-pecuniary and pecuniary damages, and adherence to established working and rest time regulations. Irina Janukevičienė, who heads the VDI working disputes commission organizational unit, provided further insight into these trends.

She noted that, when compared to the same period in the previous year, there has been a marked increase in claims related to psychological violence. Furthermore, areas experiencing heightened dispute activity include working and rest time adherence, contractual terms, and compensation for non-pecuniary damages. These figures suggest that while wage disputes remain the dominant concern, workers are increasingly litigating issues concerning workplace well-being and the precise delineation of their employment rights over the past half year.

The data provides a clear snapshot of current labor concerns within the jurisdiction.
