The U13 and U14 teams from the “Future Is Now” program recently competed on the “MADE Hoops Global Games,” a platform featuring some of the top youth basketball academies in the USA and internationally. The event gathered participants whose backgrounds included children of NBA champions, current league coaches, and former professional players, such as JJ Redick and Tyson Chandler’s sons. The Lithuanian contingent of the program did not participate merely as guests; rather, they were recognized among the top competitors and secured the U13 age group championship.
Rolandas Skaisgirys, a leader within the “Future Is Now” program, traveled to Springfield, USA, accompanied by his son Atu, who represented Lithuania on the team. According to Skaisgirys, the participation provided a significant opportunity to demonstrate the true caliber of Lithuanian youth basketball. He stated that the event confirmed the high level of skill among the Lithuanian children.
“In Springfield, we once again saw that the Lithuanian children’s basketball level is real,” Skaisgirys noted. His presence and the team’s success in the USA were viewed as a clear exhibition of the current standard of basketball talent among the children.
