In a separate development, a new meeting plan was put forward last September, following a visit by the CIA to Moscow. Historically, in September 2019, bus transportation from Latvia operated four distinct routes to Russia and three routes to Belarus. The regulatory environment continues to be a point of contention.
The Latvian Conservative Party and the National Alliance have publicly demanded a complete ban on all bus transport services to Russia and Belarus.
