The Lithuanian National Youth Song Festival is concluding its program, which has featured various percussion orchestras, ensembles, and dance performances since Friday. The final event of the festival, titled “Time. Rhythm.
Together,” will culminate in the Song Day, which is expected to involve 10,000 choristers. According to the festival’s artistic director, Vytautas Miškinis, this year’s Song Day adheres to a specific concept: tracing the journey of childhood from birth through maturity, specifically focusing on the development of love, from maternal care to young romance. The proceedings will commence with a lullaby, symbolizing the beginning of life, which will be performed by Veronika Povilionienė.
Following this, the vocal ensemble “Duodeco” will accompany her lullaby rendition. This segment will then transition into a performance by a young choir singing Laimio Vilkončiaus piece, “Gimtinę.”
The festival has provided a comprehensive showcase of musical talent, concluding with this large-scale Song Day event. The culmination of the performances underscores the journey of human experience through song, marking a significant cultural event for the nation’s youth.
