The Lithuanian text: The Lithuanian authorities are asking for an additional 0.6 million euros for the expenses in the dispute with Belaruskalij and Hasenberg

A government decision regarding the arbitration case initiated by the Belarusian state fertilizer producer, Belaruskali, against Lithuania is expected on Wednesday. The dispute centers on financial losses Belaruskali claims to have sustained after Lithuania suspended the transit of fertilizers in February 2022. The investment arbitration process was formally launched by the company in October 2023.

Belaruskali is seeking compensation for services rendered by legal counsel during the period of January through March of this year, requesting an award of 327,500 euros, in addition to a claim of 305,800 euros related to Hasenberg. The matter requires a ruling from the government, which must address the basis of the claims concerning the disruption of fertilizer supplies. The core of the dispute revolves around the financial impact following the suspension of transit routes involving Lithuania.

The requested amounts, specified in euros, represent the total financial claims being presented in the ongoing arbitration proceedings.
