The Lithuanian text: The Lithuanian resident’s failure – BMW salesman disappeared with money

A man, born in 1991, reported that he encountered an advertisement for a BMW X3. Following the advertisement, he agreed to purchase the vehicle and subsequently transferred 1000 euros into the specified bank account as an advance payment. However, the buyer never received the car, nor was the deposited money returned.

Consequently, an investigative inquiry has been initiated under Article 182, paragraph 1, of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania. The case pertains to the alleged fraudulent transaction involving the vehicle and the financial loss. The incident highlights a reported instance of consumer fraud within Lithuania.

The individual who reported the loss stated that the advertised BMW X3 was never delivered after the initial payment was made. The authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the non-receipt of the vehicle and the disappearance of the deposited funds. This legal action suggests that the matter is being treated as a criminal offense under Lithuanian law.

The investigation aims to trace the transaction and determine the responsible parties for the misappropriation of the money. Authorities are following standard legal procedures to address the alleged fraud related to the sale of the BMW.
