The Ministry invites candidates for the National Culture and Arts Prizes

The Ministry has announced that the deadline for submitting recommendations for various awards is September 1st. In related cultural updates, ELTA provided a reminder regarding the Lithuanian National Culture and Arts Prizes. These annual accolades are designated to recognize the most significant cultural and artistic works created within the past seven years by creators belonging to both the Lithuanian and World Lithuanian communities.

Furthermore, the awards also honor creators who demonstrate a sustained, long-term creative contribution to the fields of culture and art. The monetary value associated with the annual prizes is substantial, equating to 800 basic social benefits, which amounts to nearly 60,000 euros this year. The recent announcements detailed several prestigious recognitions within the arts.

The Maironis Prize recipients were named, alongside the awarding of Ministry of Culture Prizes to directors V. Žegulyte and A. Blaževičius.

Additionally, the D. Tamulevičiūtė Prize was conferred upon the director associated with the unpublished play “Urna” by M. Dautartaitė.

These awards are integral to the recognition of artistic achievement, with the laureates being officially announced in Lithuania since 1989. The consistent presentation of these awards underscores the ongoing commitment to preserving and advancing Lithuanian culture and artistic heritage. The Ministry’s oversight ensures the continued professional recognition of contributions across the entire spectrum of Lithuanian creative endeavors.
