According to reporting detailing the situation, the Ministry characterized this designation as politically motivated and lacking factual basis.
The stated objective of the restriction is to limit Belarusian citizens’ access to information concerning various initiatives originating from the European Union and its member states. These initiatives are described as efforts designed to bolster civil society, facilitate education, and support citizen mobility. In response to the action, Lithuania issued a statement emphasizing that the decree issued by the Belarusian regime carries no legal standing within its own territory.
