Data from the Lithuanian self-regulation body indicates that 5,238 new light vehicles were registered in the country during May. Of this total, the majority were personal vehicles, accounting for 4,845 units, while 393 were commercial vehicles. Among the most popular brands this past month were Toyota, which registered 1,232 units, followed by Volkswagen with 820, and Škoda with 755.
In separate news, an investigation has been opened regarding an incident in Vilnius where three cars were damaged. The data also highlights the growth in electric mobility. In May alone, 338 real electric cars were registered, representing a 44.4% increase compared to the same period last year.
Looking at year-to-date statistics, the national car park has been supplemented by a total of 20,858 new light vehicles and 1,495 electric cars since the beginning of the year.
