A recent opinion poll conducted by “Baltijos tyrimai,” a joint Lithuanian and British market and public opinion research company, gathered data from the public between July 21 and July 31. The survey assessed public sentiment regarding a recent government change, particularly in the context of questions concerning whether the Prime Minister and his wife obstructed an investigation by LRT. Overall, the results showed a general positive reception to the change.
According to the survey, 47% of respondents rated the change positively, while an additional 11% rated it very positively, and 36% rated it more positively. Conversely, 30% of respondents rated the change negatively, and a quarter of the participants indicated they did not have an opinion or did not answer the questions. The poll revealed significant variation across different political demographics.
The electorate associated with the Social Democratic Party demonstrated the highest level of support, with 71% of respondents from that group rating the change positively. In contrast, the electorate of the “Nemuno aušra” party showed the highest level of dissatisfaction, as 42% of its respondents rated the decision negatively. Generally, voters belonging to other political parties tended to rate the change more positively than negatively.
