The Panevėžys City Council has approved a revision to the structure of local paid parking services, specifically concerning the issuance of monthly passes. Previously, the system required residents and users to purchase different ticket types depending on the designated zone. Under the former arrangement, for instance, a specific rate of 23 euros was valid within the designated green zone, while a higher rate of 40 euros was necessary for parking in the red or blue zones.
The recently adopted policy streamlines this process by introducing a standardized rate for all paid parking areas. Under the new guidelines, a single 40-euro monthly ticket will grant holders access to park in every designated parking space that is subject to local charges, irrespective of whether that space falls within the green, red, or blue zone classifications. This change simplifies the purchasing process for individuals requiring continuous parking access within the city limits.
By unifying the cost and validity across all paid zones, the council aims to provide a consistent method for managing paid parking for subscribers. Users who previously needed to navigate multiple zoning-specific ticket purchases can now utilize one unified monthly pass for comprehensive coverage across the entire paid parking network managed by the city. This adjustment represents a modification to the existing municipal ordinance governing parking permits.
