The opening of the summer in Palanga – to achieve records and norms to the most important championships

Approximately 100 of the country’s top athletes are slated to participate in the upcoming events. This group features several notable competitors, including Olympic runner Modesta Justė Morauskaitė, Gediminas Truskauskas, Diana Zagainova, Aina Grikšaitė, and Adas Dambrauskas, recognized as the fastest man in the country. Among the participants is Diana Zagainova, an Olympic runner and the fastest woman in the country.

While some athletes will be competing for the first time this season, expectations are high, with many anticipated to set new personal or national records and achieve qualifying standards for major championship events later in the year. Modesta Justė Morauskaitė, an Olympic runner and the national record holder, expressed enthusiasm for the start of the summer season. She noted that after several springs where preparation was hampered by health issues, the team has managed to resume a smoother training regimen this year.

Morauskaitė stated, “In the spring, when health problems disrupted preparation, we managed to return to smooth work.” Consequently, a primary objective for the participants is to assess the effectiveness of their preparation for the current competitive season.
