The preliminary investigation of a young woman is not a hindrance: she was caught with a large amount of illegal cigarettes and again

On Thursday, personnel from the VSAT Border Guard Coast Guard Unit and the Special Operations Department of the VSAT “Kovas” Western Unit, stationed in the Mažeikiai district, conducted an operation within a local garden community. During the operation, officers apprehended a 29-year-old woman. The woman was observed transporting goods in a “Citroen Jumper” minibus towards a nearby parked “Audi A4.” Both vehicles were confirmed to have Lithuanian license plates.

Following a thorough inspection of the vehicles and a search of the adjacent premises, border guards discovered a significant quantity of illicit goods. Specifically, the officers recovered 33,370 packs of cigarettes, including brands such as “Marlboro Gold Original,” “Winston Blue,” and “Marlboro.” Crucially, these cigarettes were found to be without the required excise stamps. The value of the seized cigarettes, calculated to include all applicable taxes due in Lithuania, exceeded 170,000 euros.

The operation resulted in the woman being caught in possession of a substantial illegal shipment of cigarettes.
